Beef Stew

Ingredients
- 1 punnet Stewing / Braising Steak
- 2 red onions
- 3-4 carrots
- 2-3 parsnips
- 4 medium potatoes
- 500ml bottle Guinness (or suitably pretentious local dark ale)
- 2 beef stock cubes
- Dumpling mix
- large handful flour
- Oil
Method
- Preheat pan with some oil
- Add flour, salt and pepper to food bag, mix then add steak and jiggle until steak coated. Empty entire bag (including all flour) into the hot pan
- Fry until steak browned; add large chunks of onion
- Dice carrots, parsnips, potatoes then add once Onion softened
- Add stock cubes then add beer and enough water to cover
- Simmer for about 90-100 minutes in total, making and cooking dumplings as on packet instructions.
