Toad in the Hole

Ingredients

• 4 heaped tablespoons flour
• Pinch salt
• 1 egg
• Some milk
• 6 Sausages
• 1 Onion

Method

1. Get an oven preheating to 200C and put the oven tray into it to preheat
2. Fry the sausages gently until browned
3. Make a batter mixing the flour, salt and egg together and adding milk unitl a batter is formed (it should be the consistency of a thin-ish pancake batter)
4. Dice and add the onion to the batter
5. Pour hot sausages and hot sausage oil into pre-heated oven tray then put into the oven at 200C for 20 minutes.
6. Check it is cooked by inserting a knife and seeing if it comes out clean

Notes

Goes well with vegetables or with baked beans.
